Unless your emails get to the recipient's inbox they are pretty useless.
Here are some tips that you can do (some with our help) to improve email deliverability... but before that, this is what we do as standard practice.
Authenticate your sending domain - we enable Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) for you (if we manage your domain) or give you instructions on how to do this. This basically means that when the email arrives at the recipient's email servers it knows that you are who you say you are.
Use a dedicated IP address - we use a dedicated IP address to ensure a good sender reputation is established, making it more likely your emails will arrive in the recipient's inbox. Your sender score can be checked here https://www.senderscore.org/
Unsubscribe option - we include this as standard on all event marketing email templates. This gives the recipient the option to unsubscribe just from emails for a specific event or unsubscribe globally from receiving emails from you.
Here's what you can do:
Avoid spammy subject lines - Here is a useful article on writing good subject lines https://sendgrid.com/blog/email-marketing-subject-lines-dos-and-donts/
Run regular spam tests - Running spam tests on your emails before you send them to a list will give you a good indication of how likely it is to end up in spam. Here is a free tool which will help with this https://www.mail-tester.com/
Use a familiar "from" name - a good practice here is to make sure you are using your company name. By default, the account name is used as the from name. You can change this per send.
Only send to people that have opted in to receive emails from you - an obvious one, but many people still send to contacts that have been purchased. Sending to recipients that have opted in will reduce the risk of spam complaints.
